How much do Bolt drivers earn in Kenya?
Bolt says its median driver in Kenya earned KSh 16,043 a week in June 2026, and a Bolt/Ipsos report put the average at about KSh 63,000 a month — both before fuel, the daily amount and other costs.
How much commission do Uber and Bolt take in Kenya?
Both have charged 18% since the 2022 rules capped commission. In September 2026 the High Court suspended the cap, so check the rate in your driver app.
Do Uber drivers pay tax in Kenya?
Yes. Ride-hailing income is business income. A driver whose takings are between KSh 1 million and KSh 25 million a year pays turnover tax at 1.5%, filed monthly on iTax.
